Lazy Picture Post! October and November

1 response, Nov 26, 2009

October and November events that I took pictures of and too lazy to blog when it happened. So much for trying to be a more active blogger!

October 14, 2009. Muse and U2 concert. I wanted longer Muse time but no, we only got roughly 40 minutes, it sucked nuts but it rocked so much. When Muse came on stage, I too, came.

October 17, 2009. Dynamos vs LA Galaxy. I have to be honest, I went to this game for the sole purpose of seeing Beckham, lul. But I supported our Houston Dynamos none the last because we are awesome! :) I’m sure you can see my bias in the number of photos I had taken of Beckham.

October 30 – November 1. Oni-Con! Oni-con was… special. I saw some really great cosplays but there were more bad cosplay than the good ones. I’ve never seen so many unattractive-big-furryloving-bondage-girls and guys. It was not a pretty sight, horrific actually. I’m not being mean, well I am, but if you do not have the goods, don’t show it, that is all.

Concert: Jack’s Mannequin.

Amagad, I just came back from the concert, it was AMAZING.  The music, the overall entertainment, the humour, the environment – not so much, too many little girls gaga-ing over the bands or too many drunken idiots making an ass out of themselves while making everyone else uncomfortable. Houston Warehouse Live Studio is at a really bad part of town, near old old China Town, which is extremely shady at night, but I mean, I am back in one piece, so no worries.

The opening act was Treaty of Paris, they are pretty decent, the singer’s got amazing vocal range and voice, the band is not bad, but 3 guitars? lol. Since they’re touring with Jack’s Mannequin they went all acoustic, which is pretty awesome. I need to check out more of their stuff and get their album.

Second guest was Eric Hutchinson. Amagad, he is amazing, soooo amazing. Just. brilliant. Go Youtube some of his songs, my goodness. I bought his CD at the concert, which I asked my friend to carry for me and I forgot to get it back when he dropped me off.  (-_-)   I got the album signed by him toooo, he looks like Clay Aiken, lolol, and he’s hilarious at concerts. He is good, but sounds like a woman the first time I heard him (kind of reminded me of the guy in Circa Survive, gah I swear it’s a chick). but nooo he’s amazing, he sounds like Cher, lolol. I loveee his music style. Would definitely see him again. 10/10.

THEN FINALLY, WE HAVE JACK FCKING MANNEQUIN. <3   However, by like the time when Eric Hutchinson played, we moved near the back of the venue since we were near the bloody speakers during Treaty of Paris, our ears were like bleeding. And a lot of people were in our way of views, so I miss out on some sexy Andrew moment, but oh well, it’s the music that counts, eh?

JACK’S MANNEQUINNNNNN. Yeah, my cell’s camera is quite crap.

THEY PLAYED ALL THE SONGS I WISHED THEY WOULD PLAY. AMAGAD. I was sooooo happppppy. It was so amazing, no words can describe that feeling (besides amazing, apparently). The songs I really wanted to hear live (and did) were The Mixed Tape, Bruised, Dark Blue, Holiday From Real, I’m Ready, The Resolution, Swim, Hammer and Strings, Spinning. They played many songs from new album and old, and for encore some from Andrew’s time in Something Cooperate. They are so amazing live. Andrew is so jumpy on the piano, which for couple instances he actually jumped on the piano and sang and stuff.

When they played Bruised, I was literally in tears, it was just… …

Every time after concerts, I get this new appreciation for the band’s new songs and the old songs, now I love every single one of their songs and even the old Something Cooperate! Those are going to be on my playlist foreverrrrr.

Oh, and I bought a shirt. <3   It’s purple. (Ewwwwwwwwww) but I just think the whole I *Piano* Jack’s Mannequin is so not original yet brilliant, yah?

My hearing is failing, and my voice is cracking, my feet are killing me, and I am just shattered. Off to shower then bed, I gooooo.

//edit:

My signed Eric Hutchinson album.
